TerniEnergia, a smart company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange’s electronic share market (MTA) and part of the Italeaf Group, announces that – today – the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Service of the Province of Lecce has granted an extension of 20 months of the deadline for the effectiveness of the Executive Determination concerning the “Environmental Impact Assessment (VIA) Procedure” for the biodigestion and composting plant under construction for the production of biomethane owned by Newcoenergy (100% of TerniEnergia) located in Calimera (LE).
The Executive Determination of the Province of Lecce follows the ruling of the Regional Administrative Court of Lecce no. 112/2019, which had ruled in favour of the Company and its request for the extension of the V.I.A. measure as a variant of the project already authorised. As a result of this measure TerniEnergia can enhance the asset.
TerniEnergia and Newcoenergy were assisted in the proceedings and in the process of granting the extension by the lawyer Andrea Sticchi Damiani.
