TerniEnergia, company operating in the field of renewable energy and among the main integrator systems in Italy in the photovoltaic sector and quoted on the Espandi Market of the Italian Stock Exchange, has connected two more large photovoltaic plants, each for a maximum capacity of nearly 1 MWp to electricity.

The Lequile plant, belonging to the Società TERNI SolarEnergy (Joint Venture between TerniEnergia and Edf Energies Nouvelles Italia), has an installed capacity of 970 kWp. It is one of the biggest plants started up in Italy as of today in the field of New Energy Bill (in force since February 2007). Then there is the Boschetto plant, made by third party, for a capacity of 869 kWp. The two plants are in the municipality of Lequile, in the Province of Lecce.
At the end of November, the Veglie 1 plant (installed capacity of 935 kWp) and the Veglie 3 plant (capacity of 941 kWp) started up.

In a month plants for a total of nearly 4 MW of installed capacity in just the Region of Puglia started up consolidating TerniEnergia’s position as Italian leader in the manufacture of industrial photovoltaic plants.

In this complex market however, TerniEnergia has managed to be right on target with the achievement of the 2008 objectives for a total of 41 photovoltaic plants for an installed capacity of 11 MW.
Especially from May 2007 to December 2008, 7 large plants for a total capacity of approximately 6MW were realized on behalf of the participating company T.E.R.N.I. SolarEnergy. Today all 7 are fully operative of which five are totally integrated. This places T.E.R.N.I. SolarEnergy among the biggest Italian manufacturers of photovoltaic renewable energy.

The increase of nearly 300% in respect to the 3.5 MW installed in 2007 and the development of further projects in different stages for over 6 MW, confirms Company expectations of installing a total of 22 MW by 2009.

As for the Veglie 1 and 3 plants, it was possible to start up the two new plants thanks to the positive collaboration of the Company with local institutions – Region, Province, Municipality, Customs Agencies – and with Enel that owns the local electricity network.
