The Board of Directors of TerniEnergia S.p.A. – company listed class II on the Expandi market of the Borsa Italiana S.p.A (Italian Stock Exchange) – has approved the draft balance as at 31.12.2008.
n the financial year 2008, TerniEnergia reached important goals consolidating its national leadership in the “turnkey” supply of medium and large photovoltaic plants. In fact TerniEnergia has made 10 plants of nearly MWp, thus registering a considerable increase in average plant size in 2008, passing from approximately 70 kW of the previous year to 335 kW.
In 2008, the Company manufactured 41 new plants for a total power of 10.6 MWp.
Since it started up activity in 2006, TerniEnergia has installed a total of over 100 plants with an accumulated capacity of approximately 15 MWp.
The Company, that completed the listing project on 25 July 2008, also aims at consolidating its role of solar energy producer. With this regard we would like to stress that T.E.R.N.I. SolarEnergy, joint-venture with EDF EN Italia, at the end of 2008, owned a portfolio of seven photovoltaic plants, all in operation and connected to the national electricity network, for a power of 5.7 MWp.
TerniEnergia has also taken advantage of the investment funds derived from the growing interest for the Italian photovoltaic sector operating in renewable energy, also in the light of restricting revision of the incentive mechanisms used up to now in other countries (Germany and Spain). In autumn 2008, a frame agreement was reached with the company managing the Foresight Investment Funds, for the turnkey supply of photovoltaic plants to be manufactured in Italy by 31 December 2009 for a global capacity of 5 MW. In this regard a further development has been registered in March 2009. TerniEnergia has in fact undersigned an agreement with NextEnergy Capital, European merchant bank specialized in the renewable energy sector for photovoltaic plant manufacture in Italy in the 2009-2010 period, for a total capacity of 15 MW.
