TerniEnergia, smart energy company active in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste and energy management, listed on the Star segment of the Italian Stock Exchange and part of Italeaf Group, announces that the progress of work of the two “giant” sites in South Africa, on behalf of a leading Italian utility, is in line with the timetable envisaged by the final contracts for the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and O&M (operation and maintenance ) communicated to the market on 31 July 2014.
In particular, TerniEnergia Projects PTY Ltd, the South African subsidiary of TerniEnergia SpA, has completed all phases of construction (delimitation of the intervention, preparation of the necessary logistics services, network implementation plant, etc.) of the construction sites of Tom Burke (67 MWp) and Paleisheuwel (82.5 MWp), also completing the preparation of the ground for the installation (in total 350 hectares), and starting the foundation works for the photovoltaic systems. With regard to the construction site of Tom Burke, on the border with Botswana, it was put in place an action to safeguard flora and fauna, in full compliance with the strict standards for environmental protection in South Africa. The construction site of Paleisheuwel, however, is located in the Southwest of the country in an almost totally desert area.
TerniEnergia informs also that the performance of the “Energy management” business line, marked by value-added services for large electricity consumer customers in Italy, is in line with the forecasts of the business plan “Fast on the road smart energy” presented to the market last February 9. In terms of activities of the business line “Cleantech” is noted, however, the near completion of the construction site for the installation of the recovery of endo of life tyres at Borgo Val di Taro, for which is expected to start business in the third quarter of this year.
Finally, TerniEnergia communicates that has been appointed the new board of directors of New Gas Trade, which operates in the upstream sector of the natural gas and liquefied natural gas, as part of the integrated management of energy commodities. The new Board of Directors, following the acquisition by TerniEnergia of 85% share capital of NGT, is formed by Sergio Agosta, chairman, Fabrizio Prestinoni, confirmed CEO, and Andrea Polichetti, non-executive director. The target of the new Board will be to implement the strategic decisions of the Group entering the market “dual fuel”, enabling an effective business tool retention and development of new customers, leveraging the opportunity to reach a customer base of over 25,000 players, between direct and indirect customers, increasing the supply of energy products and guaranteeing a real saving on the “cost component” also thanks to the energy efficiency of the Group.
