Project Description

elviten

Light electric vehicles integrated in the transport and electric network

ELVITEN demonstrates how light electric vehicles (EL-V) can be used in urban areas and be integrated into the existing transport network of six European cities through replicable usage patterns that use electric bicycles, tricycles, scooters and quads.

The project consortium brings together 21 partners from different European countries.

THE PROJECT

ELVITEN is present in six European cities BARI, BERLIN, GENOA, MALAGA, ROME, TRIKALA.

Demonstration cities differ in specific characteristics (existing EL-V fleets, infrastructure, mobility problems, policies) but involve all existing EL-V infrastructure fleets. ELVITEN promotes a mental shift between users of these cities by providing them with a better EL-V experience.

This project has developed a platform for the real-time acquisition of usage data from electrically-assisted bikes, in order to understand peoples’engagement with e-cycling and identify key issues for policy, design and research to enable a higher uptake of e-bikes.

One of the methods put in place to further encourage the use of electric vehicles and make the collection of this data in a more efficient and meaningful way is through the use of incentives. To this end, Algowatt has developed a software platform within the project that is able to automatically manage all incentive management starting from the incentive policies and rules decided in the different cities. This development has allowed Algowatt to expand and refine its technological and product background for the management of incentives related to transport and energy consumption in general.
