• The first Italian systems integrator meets the photovoltaic market  in the Hall 5 booth A 7.1
  • On display new products and services for the plant’s protection and  safety
TerniEnergia, a company operating in the renewable energy field, listed on Star Segment of Borsa Italiana, will take part to the twelfth edition of Solarexpo (Verona, 4 to 6 May 2011), the international and conference  exhibition on renewable energy sector and distributed generation, with a place in Hall 5 booth  A 7.1 dedicated to this industry.
During the international event based on renewable energy industry, the Company will present the industrial and financial results  together with the strategic plans that provide for the evolution of business towards the Energy Saving, Mini-Hydro and new products and services for plans’ protection and safety performed for the photovoltaic market.

TerniEnergia: first italian system integrator
First in Italy, ninth in Europe, 12th in the world. TerniEnergia has quickly climbed the charts in photovoltaic sector “remedying“, to an Italian-made anomaly: the tricolour flag solar market is the second largest market in the world, but among the top ten firms specializing in this field and operating in our country there are only three Italian brands.
The Welsh IMS Study Center says this according to the 2010 statistics data. In the last year  world rankings related to installed capacity (of more than 10 KW )  the German Belectric gained the first place  with over 300 MWp of installed capacity only during the year 2010, closely followed by compatriot Juwi, by the U.S. Sun Power and by the French EDF-EN. The first is, as already said, the Italian TerniEnergia, who won the 12th place between the two German companies :JP Joule  and Relation
Ims Research centre, which analyzes data of about 500 companies in the photovoltaic sector, provides in any case a picture of a highly fragmented global market in which the first 30 groups  all together have a share of 22 percent.
Key points of a huge success
The strategic plans of the Company intend to continue their  growth path already started in order to strengthen and diversify the business, increasingly targeted towards power generation one which has acquired over time a growing importance within the Group.
The total number of plants built by TerniEnergia from the beginning of its activity until March 31st, 2011 increased to 222 for a total aggregate capacity of 135,4 MWp , 2,5 MWp of which  were intended to remain in full ownership of the Company and 57,9 MWp were performed  for joint venture Power Generation business.
TerniEnergia  completed just in the first quarter  of 2011 the building of 18 new industrial sized photovoltaic plants, for a total installed power of 18,2 MWp. Notably 2,5 MWp were performed in “full equity” and intended to remain in full ownership of the company, 8,6 MWp  were performed for Joint Venture’s Power Generation Business, while the remaining 7,1 MWp were made on behalf of third parties.
A new proposal to the market: il build, operate and transfer (BOT)
At Solarexpo TerniEnergia proposes to the Italian market a portfolio of photovoltaic plants for sale. Among the strategies implemented by the company itself, emerges, in fact, the optimization of the EPC activity through the sale on the market of large solar power plants after the start up operation , according to the BOT model (build, operate and transfer).

Innovative services in the security sector
TerniEnergia at Solarexpo will present a series of innovative services aimed at the protection, security and theft prevention modules , panels and systems technology in large solar parks.
The Group has earned an increasingly important part of the market in the installations based on “turn-key” system together with Operation and  Maintenance services. Hundreds of industrial sized photovoltaic plants , located in every part of Italy, are remote controlled by the Group’s technical devices.
TerniGreen, another company inside TERNI Research Group, being aware of the specific market need, has developed and patented anti-tamper systems for photovoltaic modules and their  copper cables (TRSecurePV) together with a perimeter boundaries control systems of the solar parks through video analysis room (TRvideoanalysis). TerniGreen has also  set up an operation centre for remote control and  monitoring  (iGreenPatrol).

TRsecurePV
TRSecurePV is a tamper sensor, specially designed for solar power plants, which allows to implement an alarm unique for its practicality and effectiveness in average and industrial size photovoltaic plants, while maintaining its simplicity and its affordability. The relé outputs can drive any detector on the market, such as a common siren, a joystick or a GSM / GPRS device in order to send  a SMS in case of tampering with the system.
 TRvideoanalysisPV
Video analysis system with IP cameras for remote monitoring of photovoltaic systems. The surveillance system was designed to prevent criminal acts (act of deterrence due to the presence of cameras) to monitor in direct-critical areas, encouraging the prosecution of criminal acts have taken place in areas controlled by the cameras; optimize the costs of delegated to external structures of security and supervision. TRVideoanalysisPV offers through an innovative system of video analysis as a highly effective solution to detect intrusions even prohibitive environmental conditions, with very few false alarms and  not comparable performance to the conventional sensors in complex environments.

iGreenPatrol
Operative Surveillance and remote monitoring technology of remote sites. The large number of photovoltaic plants to be monitored and the increasingly urgent need for prevention of theft and damage, led to the need of monitoring and manage all the technological equipment of the plant, the central stations and installed video surveillance, through a Central Operations , 24 by 24-hour manned security guard, able to safely record, interpret and automatically manage and / or operator assistance, all the signals from the remote sites. The goal is to make more effective all control systems coming from remote in order to immediately activate technical and anti-crime operations. Through the remote control of movable and immovable property (starting from the photovoltaic plants ), subscribers can make use of technologically advanced equipment of the Central Office for the timely intervention of police forces (Carabinieri and police) deployed in the control of the territory Prevention and Punishment of Crimes and / or security guards of local Surveillance Institutes. The service will be provided in the manner pursuant  by law, on the basis of specific agreements, and after verification and current danger found.
